Civic Involvement

As permanent and long-term residents of the Greater Miami area, we display a strong commitment to the community by supporting the civic and charitable groups and educational institutions that mean so much to this area.

Our attorneys are also community leaders. In the past three years members of the firm have been: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College; President of the Miami City Ballet; Chairman of the YMCA of Greater Miami and President of the Orange Bowl Committee.

Our lawyers have taken leadership roles in a variety of projects ranging from the funding and building of a 22,000 square foot recreational and educational center in Liberty City, to interviewing and serving as trial counsel for the Cuban refugees detained at Guantanamo Naval Base.

Our attorneys’ awards include: Urban League Award for Service to the Black community, the Silver Medallion from the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the Mayor of Miami's "Citizen of the Year" award, the Voluntary Bar Association Pro Bono Service Award from the Florida Bar, the President's Award as the Volunteer of the Year for the Greater Miami YMCA, and Greater Miami Sportsman of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Miami.
