Attorneys & Staff Maureen E. Lefebvre Coral Gables, Florida
MAUREEN E. LEFEBVRE joined the firm as part of the appellate practice group. She graduated from Michigan State University, where she belonged to the Honors College and was a member of the varsity debate team. Ms. Lefebvre subsequently attended law school at the University of Florida, where she was an editor of the Law Review. While in law school she clerked for the well-known personal injury firm of Beckham and McAliley. After law school, Ms. Lefebvre joined the distinguished appellate law firm of Greene & Cooper, which later became Cooper & Wolfe. She has practiced extensively in the appellate field and in trial support, and is a member of the appellate section of the Florida Bar. She has handled appeals in both the state and federal appellate courts. The subject matter of those appeals encompass all types of personal injury and wrongful death suits, as well as bankruptcy, admiralty, commercial torts, contracts, insurance and criminal law. Ms. Lefebvre has handled pro bono appeals for both the guardian ad litem program and the public defender's office. In addition, Ms. Lefebvre has been involved at the trial level in a wide spectrum of cases including major class actions such as the U.S. Oil & Gas litigation and the Premium Sales litigation. Ms. Lefebvre is the author of Comment: "Actual Damages: A No-Win Proposition for the Anti-Trust Plaintiff," J. Truett Payne Co. v. Chrysler Motor Corp. 101 S.Ct. 1923 (1981), 33 Fla. L. Rev. 750 (1981), and the co-author of "Contribution-An Overview," Comparative Negligence and Contribution in Florida, 4th Ed. 1992, 5th Ed. 1995.
