Meet Litigation Lawyer Ronald W. Kleinman
Partner at Colson Hicks Eidson
Ronald W. Kleinman has had a long and distinguished legal career. When our firm wanted a preeminent litigation lawyer to head its new office in our nation’s capital, we called on Ron. Ron joined our Washington DC law office on March 1, 2010.
Prior to joining Colson Hicks Eidson, Ron served as the Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Washington DC office where he practiced in that firm’s Global Trade and Litigation departments.
Ron is an international and treaty law authority and has been passionately involved for over 10 years in securing substantial judgments for victims of international terrorism.
Ron’s practice also focuses on:

- Environmental coverages
Additionally, Ron has represented many Fortune 500 corporations, several major U.S. air carriers and multiple government airport authorities.
A Litigation Lawyer with First-hand Government Experience
For five years, Ron served as the Deputy Assistant Legal Advisor in the U.S. Department of State. During his years at the Department of State, Ron served on numerous trade and diplomatic interagency teams relating to bilateral and multilateral regulation and promotion of international commerce. In addition, Ron was the Department’s coordinator for high-level U.S.-U.K. talks on extraterritoriality, known as “Dam-Rifkind Talks.” The Dam-Rifkind Talks paved the way for cooperation framework agreements between the United States and Great Britain’s law enforcement officials regarding commercial litigation issues such as money laundering, securities and banking fraud, antitrust and export administration.
Following his years in government, Ron entered private practice and was involved in a multitude of international trade issues including aviation and service sector issues. Ron also had the distinction of counseling the Government of Canada with respect to negotiations leading to the North America Free Trade Agreement (“NAFTA”).

Ron received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service graduating cum laude. Furthermore, Ron served as an adjunct professor at American University College of Law teaching advanced level courses in International Commercial Arbitration and International and Comparative Antitrust Law.
