Construction Defect Class Action Lawsuit Filed Alleging a National Cover-up of Pipe Defects in Condo Fire Sprinkler Systems

High Rise Buildings Developed Between 2004 and 2009 Primarily at Risk CORAL GABLES, FL. (December 4, 2015) — Attorney Patrick S. Montoya, partner at Colson Hicks Eidson, and Stuart Sobel partner at Siegfried, Rivera, Hyman, Lerner, De la Torre, Mars & Sobel, along with Of Counsel Alton C. Hale, Jr., have filed a class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Miami on behalf of two Miami condominium associations concerning defective fire sprinkler systems and a national cover up over a significant life safety issue in multi-unit condominiums in Florida and across the country. Montoya, Hale and Sobel believe that the problem is nationwide and that monetary damages arising from the claims will exceed one billion dollars. The 56-count lawsuit filed against a dozen manufacturers, suppliers and distributors seeks compensatory, incidental and consequential damages. Colson Hicks Eidson Files Lyft Wrongful Death Lawsuit against Ride Service and Driver Involved in Fatal Miami Accident

Lyft Driver Failed to Yield the Right Away Killing Motorcyclist CORAL GABLES, Fla. (November 18, 2015) — Coral Gables-based law firm Colson Hicks Eidson, filed a wrongful death negligence lawsuit against Lyft Florida, Inc., a ridesharing transportation service, and one of its Miami drivers who was involved in a fatal crash with a motorcyclist. The Lyft wrongful death lawsuit, filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, alleges that Lyft neglected to properly train its driver, Pirooz Pakdel, who failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist, Loinier Perez, 29, of Miami. The victim is survived by his wife, Poliana, who was eight months pregnant with the couple’s first child at the time of the incident. According to the lawsuit, Perez was struck on October 31 while Pakdel was carrying a pair of Lyft passengers in his 2003 Jeep Liberty. Colson Hicks Eidson Files Medical Negligence Lawsuit against Orlando Health Care Providers and Medical Facilities for Failure to Diagnose Tuberculosis

More than 20 Defendants Named in the Lawsuit CORAL GABLES, Fla. (July 21, 2015) – Coral Gables-based law firm Colson Hicks Eidson filed a medical negligence complaint in the ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida today on behalf of Vincent Chambers against approximately 20 defendants, including Orlando Regional Medical Center, for failure to diagnose tuberculosis which ultimately caused Chambers to become paralyzed from the waist down. At the time of the alleged negligence, Chambers, 26, was a resident of Orange County and employed by the Orange County Utilities Department. According to the complaint, he began complaining of back pain in June 2012, and underwent an MRI of the cervical spine.
