Colson Hicks Eidson Partner Patrick S. Montoya Shares Trial Strategies at the National Business Institute Continuing Legal Education Seminar
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Jan. 6, 2015) – Attorney Patrick S. Montoya, partner at the Coral Gables-based law firm Colson Hicks Eidson, shared his legal strategies recently as a presenter at the National Business Institute (NBI) continuing legal education (CLE) seminar in Miami, Florida on December 11th, 2014.
Montoya’s topic, “Advanced Trial Tactics: Preparing and Conducting an Effective Cross Examination of an Adverse Witness,” offered advice on how to persuade the courtroom through effective cross examinations, making and responding to objections, among other trial tactics. Montoya, a trial lawyer with more than 13 years of experience, presented alongside attorneys Spencer M. Aronfeld, Brian H. Bieber, and Meghan C. Moore. The distinguished panel delivered valuable insight into trial preparation and courtroom strategies for taking presentation skills to the next level.
With more than a decade of success in the courtroom, Montoya focuses his practice on general personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, products liability, class action, wrongful death and aviation law. He has multiple multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements to his credit. He lectures nationally to attorneys and paralegals on a variety of legal issues and is a former adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law in the Legal Research and Writing program. He is a former president of the Miami Chapter of the American Inns of Court and a member of the Review Board for the Institute of Paralegal Education, a division of the National Business Institute that provides continuing legal education to paralegals, legal assistants and paralegal students across the U.S.
Montoya is a member of the American Association for Justice and Dade County and American Bar Associations, and previously served on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida’s Ad Hoc Committee on Rules and Procedures and the Executive Committee for the National Conference of Community and Justice (NCCJ), Greater Miami Region.
