Colson Hicks Eidson’s Patrick S. Montoya Guest Speaker at Construction Product Litigation Conference

On October 25, Colson Hicks Eidson partner Patrick S. Montoya was a guest speaker at the “Construction Product Litigation Conference” at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Resort Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. His topic was “Discovery Issues in Construction Defect Related Litigation”.

The seminar focused on:

  • whether multi-district litigation is appropriate for handling defective construction product litigation
  • the status of current and pending construction-related multi-district litigation
  • whether defective construction product cases are more suited as mass torts or class actions

Partner Patrick S. Montoya has played a key role in resolving some of the largest class actions in the country. A partner at Colson Hicks Eidson, he served as second-chair on two national plaintiff steering committees, secured multiple settlements and assisted in providing relief for hundreds of thousands of victims.

Montoya, who focuses his practice on general personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, products liability, class action, wrongful death and aviation law, recently teamed with a senior partner in the successful resolution of lawsuits stemming from the tragic parking garage collapse at Miami Dade College’s Doral campus.

The Daily Business Review recently listed Montoya on the Rising Stars recognition program, a selection of young South Florida lawyers that are making a difference in their community.
