Meet Associate Attorney Lazaro Fields

Lazaro Fields is a litigator who practices in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury and class action litigation. Prior to joining Colson Hicks Eidson, Lazaro clerked for United States District Judge Federico Moreno. Lazaro graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in Sports Management. He also received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude as a member of the Order of the Coif. While at the College of Law, Lazaro was a member of the moot court team and an editor for the Florida State Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law.

During law school, Lazaro was selected by Governor Rick Scott as a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow, where he worked under the Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration, participated in service projects and met weekly with heads of state government. Lazaro also served as an analyst for the Judiciary Committee of the Florida House of Representatives where he researched and drafted criminal and civil legislation. During his time with the Florida House, Lazaro helped craft legislation to comply with the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Hurst v. Florida, striking down Florida’s capital sentencing scheme.

Before law school, Lazaro served as a legislative aide to State Representative Carlos Trujillo and worked on a national political campaign for Governor Rick Perry during his run for President in 2012.

A native of Miami, Lazaro is a proud member of the Belen Jesuit Alumni Association and is fluent in Spanish.
