Meet Injury Attorney Susan S. Carlson

Susan Carlson has over 20 years of experience in helping individuals who have been injured in accidents due to the fault of others. An AV rated trial lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and a partner in the firm, she has focused her practice on cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, negligent security, cruise ship accidents, crewmember cases and class action litigation.  She has been involved in numerous million-dollar personal injury settlements and verdicts, including in cases where she represented individuals injured in motorcycle and car crashes, by faulty products, and by negligent security.  She recently was part of a team that tried and obtained a $20.3 million-dollar verdict for an officer who was injured while working on a cruise ship. Susan is committed to helping her clients throughout the litigation process.

She is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. There, she actively participated in mock trial, moot court and negotiations competitions. She also holds a business degree in Finance from Emory University. Prior to law school, Ms. Carlson worked as a securities analyst for an investment counseling firm in Atlanta, Georgia, serving both individuals and institutional clients.

Ms. Carlson has been active in many legal and community organizations, including having served on the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Justice Association and Miami Country Day School’s Alumni Board. Additionally, she has participated in the Put Something Back program, bringing legal services to those who otherwise could not afford them. She was appointed to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem in the 11th Judicial Circuit to protect children’s interests. She has also served the community through her volunteer work for The Heidi Hewes Chapter of the Women’s Cancer Association of the University of Miami and for the Community Partnership for the Homeless, as well as other organizations.  She has lectured on topics affecting the legal community.
