Meet Civil Litigation Attorney Zachary Lipshultz

Zach Lipshultz is a civil litigation attorney at Colson Hicks Eidson. Representing plaintiffs and defendants alike, his practice includes all aspects of civil litigation in state, federal and arbitral forums, at both the trial and appellate levels. Clients turn to Zach to resolve complex commercial matters involving breach of contract, fraud, business torts, insurance and corporate governance disputes. Zach’s diverse practice ranges from representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases to defending foreign clients in federal court under the New York Convention. Most recently, Zach serves on a litigation team prosecuting claims under Title III of the Cuban Liberty and Democratic Solidarity (LIBERTAD) Act of 1996, including the first two cases ever filed under that law.

Prior to joining Colson Hicks Eidson, Zach served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert N. Scola, Jr., United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Before that, Zach worked in the Miami office of a large international law firm.

Zach received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating summa cum laude and Order of the Coif. During law school, Zach was a member of the University of Miami Law Review and the recipient of numerous accolades for his academic achievements, including the ALI-CLE Scholarship and Leadership Award.

At the University of Miami, Zach served as the David P. Catsman Fellow for the Center for Ethics and Public Service, where he co-founded what is now the Environmental Justice Clinic. Through this experience, Zach conducted research and organized a successful grass-roots advocacy campaign to remediate a former incinerator site, which ultimately leads to the discovery and closure of numerous contaminated parks throughout Miami-Dade County.
