Colson Hicks Eidson Attorneys Help Recover $20.3 Million Verdict Against Royal Caribbean

Attorneys Deborah J. Gander and Susan S. Carlson of Colson Hicks Eidson and Tonya J. Meister of Meister Law recovered a $20.3 million verdict against Royal Caribbean Cruises on behalf of Lisa Spearman, the plaintiff. Lisa suffered a serious injury while working aboard a cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean, who was found 100 percent negligent in the case. Lisa, an officer of the RCCL ship the Voyager of the Seas, was injured during a fire safety drill. During the drill, Lisa was trying to assist another crewmember who had gone through a remote-controlled power door. As the doors began to close on the other crewmember, Lisa pressed down on the handle designed for manual control. She was pulled into the recess pocket, which resulted in her hand being crushed.
