Who is Liable for an Airplane Crash?

Our blog recently discussed an airplane crash in Costa Rica that occurred on New Year’s Eve. Ten Americans and two Costa Rican pilots were killed in the crash. Florida Keys Plane Crash Injures Four

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating a plane crash in the Florida Keys. A Piper PA-32 single-engine plane was taking off from Marathon Airport when it was caught in a strong gust of wind and blown into a nearby tree line. All four people onboard were injured. Two of the passengers and the pilot were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The fourth person was treated by emergency personnel at the scene of the crash. Marathon Airport was temporarily closed as emergency personnel arrived on the scene. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) was notified because the crashed plane had leaked almost 90 gallons of fuel.
