Are Motorcycle Riders Reckless?

Motorcycle accidents can happen for several reasons. In many cases, these accidents are not caused by motorcyclists. For example, our firm is currently working on a case involving a defective motorcycle gas system that causes the vehicle to slow down and speed up without warning. Motorcycle accidents may also be caused by drivers who collide with motorcyclists. Florida law requires motorcyclists to receive a special endorsement, meaning they likely know how to use motorcycles safely. Colson Hicks Eidson Files Negligence Lawsuit against Florida Department of Transportation & DBI Services for Failing to Maintain Delineator Poles on I-95 Express Lanes

Suit Alleges Broken Delineators Create a Hazardous Trap for Drivers CORAL GABLES, Fla. (February 13, 2017) — The law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson has filed two negligence lawsuits in the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County against the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and DBI Services for failing to maintain the orange plastic delineator poles on I-95 express lanes, creating a hazardous trap for drivers. The suit was filed on behalf of plaintiffs Cynthia Fleischmann and Catherine Milagros Perez Garcia, who were traveling northbound on Oct. 14, 2015 on their Harley Davidson motorcycles in the I-95 express lanes, approximately 500 feet south of the N.W. 103 street exit, when they were struck by a vehicle that illegally entered the express lanes from the general purpose lanes. Motorcycling Community Mourns The Loss Of A Dealership Founder From The North

It was late afternoon when a 76-year old motorcyclist and his wife went out for a ride on a lovely Melbourne Beach afternoon. They were snow birds, enjoying the lovely Florida weather instead of the harsh winter of Hempfield, Pennsylvania. Back home this gentleman founded a well-known Harley-Davidson dealership that he was planning to return to in only a few days for a Christmas party. Unfortunately, this motorcycle rider didn’t make it home from the sunny ride with his wife. Motorcycling Community Mourns While riding up Route A1A, the 79-year-old got stuck behind a 2009 Chevy Impala. After travelling some distance he decided to pass the vehicle to the left, but he didn’t know the car driver was planning to take a left-hand turn. Why Is Bonita Springs Being Sued?

While riding his Harley down East Terry Street in Bonita Springs, a 70-year-old man pulled to the left and prepared to turn onto Morton Avenue. He stopped, waiting for the cross traffic to clear, when a 2006 Ford F150 pickup crashed into the back of his Harley, and threw him into the road. This 70-year-old suffered several injuries and is looking for restitution for his suffering, so why is Bonita Springs being sued? Who Was Driving The Truck? The 56-year-old driver of the F150 that hit the motorcycle is an employee of the city of Bonita Springs. He works in the city’s code enforcement department, and he was on the job when the accident occurred.
