I think that it takes time for more women lawyers to change the practice. Because the people changing the practice, it happens over time. A very experienced trial lawyer told me one time you work your butt off for 20 years to become an overnight sensation. That is the truth. You have to work very, very hard during a lot of years when no one knows your name to be able to have the skills that it takes to be a mover and a shaker later. I think that over time, it will be more family friendly and it will make the practice more well-rounded, which I think will be good for everyone. I think that everyone from whatever demographic you’re coming from, you bring something new to the table. The more diversity we have in the law field, I think, it will necessarily make it a better and a richer profession for everyone: for the lawyers, for the judges and for the people who need our help.
